150 White Chocolate Eiffel towers

Why do I have 150 white chocolate Eiffel towers on my kitchen cabinet? Because my sister is the Senior Prom advisor for Bland High school where she teaches! She and her committee have been planning their theme “An Evening in Paris” for months. This is her 2nd year as Prom coordinator and she does a wonderful job. She had originally wanted me to do iced cookies in the shape of the Eiffel tower but the cookie cutter was just not cooperative. I came up with the idea of the chocolate mold and voile! We have Eiffel towers. The mold only made two “towers” at a time, the chocolate had to set up for 30 minutes in the refrigerator, and then I would have to trim off excess chocolate. Sometimes in the trimming process a tower would snap and I would have to start over. The towers are approximately 4″ tall. I would estimate I have 70 man hours in these towers! The things we do for our sisters! It is amazing how she gives and gives to her students and school. She is called upon many times a week to help interpret for Spanish-speaking parents who’s child is having problems. Some of those sessions are very emotional for her. She truly is “the salt and light” in her classroom. I know her Prom night will be a memorable one for her students. And for all my fussing, I am honored to have been a part of it.

Blueberry Clayton
Hopefully you remember that we are going to be grandparents again. With her first pregnancy our daughter in law gave us “updates” as to the developmental growth and stages of Tyler. I thought this would be a fun place to share with my friends how our next grandbaby is developing. Our baby measures one-half inch in length and is the size of a blueberry! That seems like a big blueberry to meJ But I know it is a sweet one. Hands and feet are starting to develop but they resemble paddles more than intricately formed fingers and toes as this point. Little blueberry is developing eyelids that are covering eyes that already are forming color! I bet they are blueJ Oh, before I forget…blueberry’s “birthday” is calculated to be September 17th. That’s all for tonight.

“Knitted together by love”
I’ve been doing a lot of knitting lately. My friends Gladys and Patti taught me how to knit using a loom. I taught my friend Carolyn. We have jokingly referred to ourselves as the Ladies of the “loom”, Loom-atics, and even the knit-twits! It has been fun to doing something I love and sharing it with my friend whom I love. I really like the story of David and Jonathon. 1 Samuel 18:1 says “the soul of Jonathan was knit with the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.”
To knit” means “to link firmly or closely and to grow together or to become drawn together. The Lord has “knitted” me to Carolyn in a unique way and I thank Him for our relationship. Below are a couple of pictures of the
“knit-twits” in action!

Notice the scarves around our necks!
