A “Great” Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving ‘08 was a great Thanksgiving to me for many reasons. First of all, it was the first major event I’ve had in my home for 2 years, or since my back surgery. I give my sweet husband and my sister in law Gail lots of praise for cleaning up the kitchen. Lee always makes the dressing, Gail brought the honey-baked ham and Lola! My children could not come but my brother’s sons came with their children so there was laughter amongst us older folks! In fact, I had Rick’s grandchildren (my great nieces and nephew) to spend the night with me. They only live a couple of miles from me and we only see each other twice a year. I’ve decided they need to know Aunt Barbie better and Aunt Barbie definitely wants to know them better. The pictures to follow describe the events of the evening. After showering and drying hair, they dutifully wore their Maroon out shirts to cheer for the Aggies!

The girls are identical twins and Blake is just one year younger. They loved marching around the house in their A&M regalia.

Despite our best efforts to “Saw those horns off” A&M was outscored again by those Longhorns.

We stayed up til ten pm and then had to tell Uncle Lee goodnight.

We are going to do this again in December with some more of Aunt Barbie’s great nieces. As I said before, this was a “great” Thanksgiving in many ways.
