Blake’s First birthday

It is
crazy to think this little boy has been in our family one year! We so enjoyed his birthday party. Michelle did a sports theme for him and his cakes she made were darling. I don’t know how Michelle does it but she does.

YUM YUM YUM

This was the coolest and grandest present from his parents. It is a Fisher Price Wall/door. You can open the door and close it and it talks. You can raise and lower the window and it says Up/Down. I played for hours with Blake opening the window, ringing the doorbell. I highly recommend this toy

He caught on really fast!

This marks the end of Blake’s first year!

Summer in San Antonio

This summer I got to fly to San Antonio to visit with the grandsons and also visit with my Mother and Father in law. The best part of the trip was I took Lola with me! We would stay at Betty and Bob’s at night and then play with the boys at Michelle’s house during the day. It was so much fun being with so much family and sharing the specialness with Lola. Here she is with both boys.

Me and the boys…a very hard picture to get!

Lola’s first visit to the Alamo. Man, it was hot!

Betty taught us to paint. Lola and I loved it.

Lola loved all the quilts Betty had made. Here she is in “our” room.

Michelle had us over for dinner one night and it was delicious.
She is such a sweet daughter in law and Mother.

Thank you all for being so sweet and special to me and Lola.
We had a great time.

Camp Gramsie and Unk 2009

We were so excited to host our Camp Gramsie and Unk again this year. With Megan being pregnant, too, we had fun talking about baby stuff. She is such a help to Michelle as I really can’t do much. I had t-shirts made that read Camp Gramsie and Unk 2009. My friend Julia came over and took several family photos.

These little boys are so sweet. They remind me so much of our boys, especially dressed alike.

Busy busy boys

A little Trevor if I ever saw one.

Is he not the sweetest thing you’ve ever seen?

I love you Tyler!

Tyler loved fresh canta-lopey

All good things must come to an end. We look forward to camp next year with our 3 grandsons and two daughter in laws!

Boy Oh Boy!

Yes,
the Lord is blessing Tracy and Megan with a boy due December 30th. We are very happy and were actually very surprised. They first told us both to get on the phone and to check our emails. There was a picture of a Bull Mastiff puppy, with the caption reading Newest Clayton member. I was so upset. They have two big (sweet) dogs, and you know the rule: 2’s company and 3’s a crowd. Well, while I was ranting on and on, the picture of the dog went away and up popped this ultrasound picture. Then I felt horrible for nagging, was so emotional that my baby was having a baby I just cried. At the time of this entry, Megan is approx. 29 weeks and is feeling great. They were in Italy when she did her pregnancy test! They came home for the ultrasound and Tracy had to leave for Angola. They are naming the baby Tanner Dylan and I love him already.

Easter Blessings

Both our sons and families drove to Denison for Easter. We were so blessed by their coming. It will be awhile before I can travel so their coming on this special holiday meant a lot to both me and Lee. Tyler is really talking a lot and so busy. Blake is smiling and crawling some. I know it was hard on them all to drive but we sure had fun. Enjoy some of our Easter memories.

Unk and Blake in their Easter bunny ears.

You really have to snap the camera fast with
these little bunnies!

Michelle loves her boy bunnies.

Uncle Tracy played really well with Tyler.

I love these girls!!!

Me and my corny signs!

What a wonderful Easter!

A Before Easter Surprise

The Verlander family came for lunch one day before Easter and they surprised me with an Easter cake! I had not been with them since Christmas and was so amazed at how much they have grown. Carson is walking, Spencer is talking a lot, and Jacob is going to pre-school. I love this family and they are so sweet to love me.

Fractured pink and limping lime

Should the crayola company need some new color choices I would highly recommend “fractured pink and “limping lime”. My walker has definitely been embellished by my good friend Julia. You can also see my coordinating “muff” designed by my friend Carolyn. I try to coordinate with my outfit of the day. The muff is actually Barbie fabric. The Barbie shirt was created by a screen print company and given to me by Tria. I love my fractured pink and limping lime walker bag. It holds my cell phone and makeup bag. Should YOU ever find yourself with a need to cover/disguise/or embellish any handicapped equipment, just give me a call. I have the best team in the world.

Spring break lunches

Being home and eating alone can be lonely. My great friends decided to take turns eating lunch with me. It has been such a blessing and gives me something to look forward to. I’ve had lunch with 82 years old to 3 years old. This is spring break so I am having lunches with my young families. Monday the Tormos family came and brought lunch from Panera Bread. That was a nice surprise. Tuesday brought all the Fitts family decked out in green for St. Patrick’s day. Lana made green spinach tortilla ham and cheese roll-ups, a wonderful green salad, green jello and shamrock sugar cookies. Here are the Fitts in green.

Wednesday Robert, Juli and Mackenzie brought chicken salad sandwiches and the best fruit salad that included mango and fresh pineapple. They are such a neat family. Today I am having lunch with one of my Camp Barbie girl’s and her family, Kaylee, Connor and Gina. This has all been such a blessing to me. Love and kisses to Hong and Lana for being my schedulers.

Clean as a whistle

May I never take for granted the luxury of an excellent and honest cleaning crew. Today was “my” day and I was thrilled, as Lee will be tonight.
Today my friends Patti and Polly took me to Country Java. I fit perfectly in Patti’s van.
I have the backdoor open and am working on my thank you’s. I am so blessed with friends who love and minister to me. Today I am thankful for my cleaning crew!

A broken Barbie

On Friday, February 13, I fell opening the door at church. I broke my left hip and shattered my left wrist. I was blessed with a great Orthopedic surgeon who is an Aggie along with his PA who is also an Aggie. I was entrusted into the care of several Christian nurses who would pray with me when I hurt or was lonely. They did surgery on Valentine’s Day to repair my hip. The break was just below the ball of the hip so they put in a long rod. They repaired the hand Monday and attached an external fixator to stabilize the pins in my hand. It looks wicked but it does not hurt. I can not bear any weight on it so they attached a cradle to my walker to rest my arm in. my arm is wrapped with a splint and ace bandage but I wanted you to see this contraption. I will probably have this for 8 more weeks.

I went to church yesterday and it was wonderful. I wanted to protect my arm/pins from germs so Carolyn made me some little one-armed muffs. This is my Sunday muff!

I am blessed beyond measure with friends and family who have lifted me and lee in prayer. It has been very hard on him. My sister and Lee’s sister have been a huge help and encouragement. That is all for today.
